Knowledge of the truth obligates.
Knowledge of the truth obligates.

Societies of every age, and ethnicity have had a clear idea and
initiation into adulthood. It is at this rite of passage that a
youth takes on the responsibilities of an adult. Not only are young
people at an almost complete loss of how to become, an adult or how
to know when they've gotten there, but the basic motivation to even
try is missing. Each of thes facts has an individual as well as
cumulative effect. As a result...what moral character which may have
been present
never comes to fruition to make a change in the greater world,
corrupt power structures becomes even more entrenched, and future
knights of righteousness never reach their respectively fields of
service.

It occurs to me that the symbol and substance of knighthood is (and
remains) culturally relevant, and necessary. And as a rite of passage
it is invaluable if used thoughtfully and prayerfully. Character is
however, caught, not taught. We as parents, pastors, leaders must
therefore embody the substance of Christian character, and not merely
the facade. Young people can smell a fake a mile away, So BE the
KNIGHT, you wish to teach.

There is more to being a knight than being an adult.

Let's walk and talk together...you and I.
